Hi Doug, thanks for the comment! It made me laugh, especially after having found a bunch of things to re-gift this year. You're right; it is kind of obvious when you're re-gifting something, but that doesn't mean people don't enjoy it all the same. I've never heard of re-gifting as vogue, though, and that's really entertaining.

As far as the sexy leg lamps go, I unfortunately don't have one to re-gift, but I did notice that Hallmark has a commemorative sexy leg lamp ornament this year that lights up and has some of the dialogue to go along with it. It's cute, and I'd buy it myself... if it weren't so expensive! Merry Christmas, and have fun re-gifting!

Shamelessly promoting re-gifting, now you don't see that sort of thing everyday.

Just kidding - very good blog! I've already re-gifted several items this year myself. Actually, I've been doing it for ten to fifteen years now and I've fooled myself into thinking no one is the wiser. With the economic times we're in creativity seems to be a major key to survival, and re-gifting is most certainly considered vogue in my neck of the woods.

No kidding - if anyone has one of those sexy leg lamps to re-gift I'll gladly take it.

I hope each of you at Abunga have a very Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Years Day.

I read Dust and Ashes when it first came out and I've read every novel of Tricia's since. :-)She has a knack for bringing the big conflict down to a more personal level and she does that through her well-written characters and historical accurate settings that escape getting bogged down in tedious detail.

The last series of Tricia's that I read delved into the Spanish Civil War. Before the series I was vaguely aware of that war; her novels were a real eye opener for that conflict.

If you're enjoying Dust and Ashes, read the rest of her novels. IMHO, she gets better with every book. :-)

I have The Shack in my rather teetering TBR pile, but From Dust and Ashes by Tricia Goyer I read when it came out. I have to say I liked it very much and I do not usually like to read WWII (or WWI for that matter) stories, but the characters were so strong and there is a romance in it. Dust and Ashes was one that I felt like cheering at the end--and that is one of my favorite feelings to have at the end of a story.

Let us know what you think! Love Tricia's books.

I read From Dust and Ashes about a year back, and was spellbound by the story. I fell in love with the characters, and the stories behind each.

I found myself feeling compassion in new places, and then questioning that compassion.

But in the end, I had a deeper understanding for the war, and for the suffering everyone went through. And for how God works in our lives.

This is a fantastic read for historical fiction fans, and even those new hostorical fiction readers.

I loved the savings on the book I ordered! And being able to choose the charity was a nice idea as well. I have one suggestion. It would be fantastic if you coul include the ability to include a gift note with the gift that is purchased on your site, as an option! My order tonight was for my Dad's birthday. A card would have completed the transaction nicely.

Regards,

How do you manage pride & success, now that you're a famous author? What advice would you give a new book author who's struggling to have any success at all?
