Earlier this week I had the opportunity to participate in the time honored fall tradition of pumpkin carving! Now I must warn you, I come from a long line of carvers, my father is an excellent pumpkin carver (and Easter egg dyer) and my grandfather before him, and my great grandfather were all skilled in the tools and knowledge to turn a pumpkin into a masterpiece.
So my pumpkin started out from this field (see picture below) and turned into a glorious piece of fall art work to decorate our porch!
Unfortunately, I neglected to get a picture of my pumpkin with a candle inside, so instead of my handiwork here’s a picture of the pumpkin my good friend Chris carved for me, with my initials GB. He’s pretty skilled with those little saw-knife-pumpkin carving tools eh?
